We Should All Be Learning Linux
I was never a computer wizard and I taught most of what I know now myself. I’ve been using some form of linux for about 10 years now. I used to do more programming for homework in school and eventually realized how great linux itself is once you learn it. It allows you to customize and really develop a workflow that is unique to you unlike any other OS. I’m all about saving time, doingt things efficiently. Computers aren’t going away so the more people learn and embrace them, I think the better off they’ll be.
I’ve learned so much over the years, distro hopping and configuring system. It’s been a lot of fun but I’ve realized how simple things really can be wihout over complicating it. I don’t miss gui’s, I’ve found a place in ther terminal and I love it. There are so many great built in system utilities that you really don’t need much else. You can make it unique to you and I find the biggest benefit. You don’t have to settle for commercial software that you conform to. It’s funny because in tall the sci-fi movies, you see just screens which look like terminals, not all these graphical interfaces. I hope that is what the future does look like as far as computing.
